What is Sienna Ranch’s Summer Open Art Studio?
Sienna Ranch Open Art Studio is designed for kids, ages 5-12, who love to create. We will give them access to a variety of high quality materials, inspiration through demonstrations and models, and gentle guidance. At Summer Open Art Studio, we believe in the process- not the product- and that with creating comes fulfillment. We stress that there are no mistakes, but rather opportunities to learn and grow. Additionally, we value the “creative moment” and realize that that can not always be achieved in a one hour art class, but may come after hours or days, morning or evening, alone or with others. Sienna Ranch Open Art Studio provides the possibilities.
What kind of student is this Open Art Workshop ideal for?
An art student who likes to work at his or her own pace, who favors a loose class format over a rigid schedule. A student who is curious and likes to try new or different things.

What are your hours?
We will be there 8:45am - 6:15pm but the studio will be closed from 1 - 2pm every day for lunch. Students who come in the morning must be picked up by 1 pm; they may return at 2pm. If you need extended care, please leave Karen a voicemail at 925-283-6311, mailbox 1, or Geanie at 510-388-1922.
When does the Pass expire?

What happens if my child finishes a project early?
There are several options for your child if they finish a project early and want to stay in the art studio. We will work with them individually as a resource for creativity. For an additional fee, you can purchase Super Passes for access to more advanced materials. These Super Passes extend their learning experience and ensures that they enjoy every minute of their studio time.
What happens if my child creates more artwork than they can fit in their portfolio?
We encourage lots of trial and error, as we believe art-making is a process. By its nature, there will be lots of extra sketches and practice pieces. The 12-page portfolio is usually meant for the artist's best work. The rest can be stored in an envelope and referred to later for inspiration.
What is your refund policy?
There are no refunds for the portfolio or any unused studio time. August 17, 2009 is the last day to spend time in the studio.
Is the Portfolio Pass transferable?
Yes, anyone can use the same Pass for up to 10 hours in the studio. Only one portfolio per Pass.
What is the maximum capacity of students in the art studio?
8.
What happens if the art studio is full?
If there are already 8 kids in the studio when you arrive, we will ask you to come back later or wait with your child. It's first come, first serve.
